South American Wallhanging

£700.00

A wallhanging exploring waiting, longing and the passing of precious time. Dimensions: 190cm x 70cm

Over the last few years I have worked in several London prisons which has made me particularly aware of the passing of time. Whilst living in Bolivia I found this woven material that had been originally used as a sack which seemed too beautiful for such a menial use. I used hand embroidery to try and elevate its status and mark the passing of time as I embroidered.

Materials: Woollen tapestry with woollen thread.
